Good evening all...

Firstly, I truly hope, that everyone here are all staying happy, well, safe & (all keeping their heads above water)... pardon my pun...

These past Two (2+) years, have been well past. the explanations provided from the normal lexicon definition of "Extraordinary". Yes, I realise, the replacement synonym most often applied as a substitute is: Unprecedented

However... What the ****?

Unfortunately, there is no single word, in my vocabulary, that adequately begins to draw near to the shear devastation, which we have all witnessed in one way or another, within this short period of historical events of unbelievable proportions, (in my mind),, & not just here in Oz... but Globally. We are witnessing an unravelling of the safety of the unspoken, & unwritten Hobbesian "Social Contract". Morally, or ethically if one applies Rousseau's version of the same philosophical application. That 'social contract' is generally what is referred to as the device we entrust globally to maintain a peaceful planet... Anyways... before I rant & ramble on for much longer...

... I was simply wondering, if like me, a few of you out there might be interested in attending our first MATES Cafe Catchup, (Yes, a physical meeting), since all of this ceased pre-covid, which now seems all so long ago...

I don't have any Date or Location in mind at this point... Just a question to test the waters & see whether or not others might like to join in on our first Cafe Catchup reunion, since the whole thing went South, North, East & West ...etc :-))

Anyways, please do let me know, obviously, it would take place in Sydney somewheres? Open to all suggestions so please feel free to volunteer all & any ideas, any of you might have etc... (?)

Until then, please stay happy, safe & well...

Best wishes to all...

Steve

Hi Steve.
Yes - I’d love to see a cafe catch-up happen. I think the spot our last catchup was held - Pattinson’s Patisserie in St Ives, was a central spot that we could all get to quite easily.
Cheers
Mark

Afternoon Mark... :-D

Hope you'll be free also for our Cafe Catchup Date change:
UPDATED – SUNDAY APRIL 10th, 2022 at 6PM
Best wishes

Hey Mark... :-D

Yes, I think it has maybe been long enough, & most of us would all be fully vaccinated too, I would imagine... (?)

I think I may have to send out a Post to our members to gain their direct attention, & I shall do that very shortly...

Hope you are keeping well Mark... 8-)

Best wishes

Steve

I would love to be there for “catch up “.
Any idea when this might happen ?
St Ives isn’t too far for me….coming from Mosman.
Excited to meet others with same/similar issues.

Hey Rosie... :-)

Hopefully, in 2-3 weeks at most I would presume, at this stage I simply wanted to see who & how many might be keen to restart our Cafe Catchups etc...

We used to do these meet-ups before COVID-19 reared its ugly visage of course...

Anyways, and after more people respond, and we have created a consensus of sorts, I shall Post again w/ firm Dates & Time etc...

It would be lovely to meet you too Rosie... :-)

Stay safe & well...

Steve

Afternoon again guys...

Warwick has suggested he will be trying to join us, even tho' he has recently suffered from a relapse of sorts. Katie has also suggested that she'd like to join us too but asks if it can be a Date after the Easter break etc...

Hopefully, Leon wants to join us too... (?) Awaiting his further response etc..

So just looking for hands for an after Easter Cafe Catchup, and could people please advise me if a Sunday, at say 10:30AM, is a suitable time for everyone etc...

The First Sunday is April 24, how's that for all attendees?

Be advised, that Parking near Pattison's patisserie is often a tad tight too...

Looking forward to seeing all of you again very soon... 8-)

Best wishes all...

Steve

PS. I will not book until after I have the numbers correct etc... Thanks. S

Yep - count me in for that date, but I may be in Tasmania but that hasn’t firmed up yet. So I’m assuming I’ll be here.
Cheers

Sadly that date won’t work for me as we are off to the deep north.
Be in Queensland until 12th May.
It’s always difficult to have a date suitable for everyone.
Hopefully I’ll be around for the next catch up.
Keep well all,
Rosie
