Hi everyone
Hope all are keeping well and safe and dodging Omicron !
Wondering if anyone has had their fourth vaccine yet ?
I had my 3rd in October and I know from UK site Healthunlocked that the fourth jab is happening after 90 days.
I definitely don’t want to test the water and find out how Omicron might affect me.
Ninety days for me is next week so I’m eager for booster. My GP is no longer giving Covid vax so I guess it will be a vaccination centre or pharmacy.
No publicity at all re the immunocompromised.

Re: 4th Vax - Booster
Hey there Rosie...
Happy New Year to you & yours...
Let's all stay positive in the belief that "Change" will eventually take place, & hopefully, we might all move forward into our newer reality during 2022 etc...
Fourth (4th) Vaccinations, (or Boosters), are not as yet being mentioned here in Oz, as far as I am aware at least...
However, & that said, & as you've already pointed out in the UK, (& my previous Post about Israel). In both those countries, 4th Boosters are now in vogue.
Governments here, are now talking about the "New Modelling" to suggest that Omicrom will peak during the next week, (is that Code for this is all but over?)...
We shall have to keep listening & watching this space...
Others may have heard differently, but I am not aware of a further (4th) Booster being offered here as yet...
Please do let me know if you should learn to the contrary ...
Stay safe, happy & well Rosie...
Best wishes again...
Steve

Re: 4th Vax - Booster
I haven’t heard anything regarding 4th shots as yet. Have just had my third last weekend. As for reaching an Omicron (or any other type of) peak next week, here in WA we are only now awaiting the beginning of living with Covid with our hard border set to open on 5 February. Really not looking forward to it but feel I have done everything possible to prepare.
Best wishes to all. Stay safe and happy, Merry

Re: 4th Vax - Booster
Well I had 4th jab - booster - 3 weeks ago. Now had AZ, Pfizer and Moderna.
No side effects, in fact my arm wasn’t as sore as it had been with Pfizer.
Now this week my bloods have gone haywire. WCC has been very low but not shot up to the upper limits !
HCT elevated and increased platelets too. Seeing Haematologist next week so it will be interesting to me to learn if this is the result of the Covid booster or something else. Fingers crossed.
Stay well and safe everyone,
Rosie

Hey Rosie...
Hope all is well in your world...
Cool that you've already had the 4th Booster too...
It will be very interesting to see what opening up the International Borders does, (as school goes back), & all just prior to an Election... (?)
There's already a newer variant out there, although not much is being said about it at present...
I do wonder if that is in fact by design rather than by accident too...
Anyways, please do stay safe, happy & well...
Very best wishes
Steve

Thanks Steve.
Saw haematologist today and it was decided not to do anything until after next FBC in case this was just an aberration ! BP sky high so I must have really been stressed.
Maybe I should start meditating or drinking more GnTs

Evening Rosie...
Yes, you do make me smile Rosie...
We can all scare ourselves just a tad too much at times I guess... after all, we have a rather serious illness... & we must be our own best advocate in staying on top of whatever it is that works best for us, (individually of course)...
Remember however, that we still have to also try to live what others might term a "normal existence" too...
Me, I try to stick to a rather rigorous cycling training regime, (which includes a fairly strict diet). However, I do also come up for air every so often & enjoy a nice glass or two of a well-crafted wine...
Interestingly, I did notice quite a few oddities in my FBCs during the vaccination rounds also...
However, in my case, I also had to alter my Med's, just to try to be certain of achieving a positive seroconversion of the Pfizer shots I was having, (all mine were Pfizer). Unfortunately, some of my Med's could prevent the development of antibodies after vaccination. So one of them I had to cease completely, & my immunosuppressant had to also be reduced for a period etc...
Hence, perhaps, in my case those fluctuations were most likely experienced due to those Med's modifications etc...
I shall keep my ears to the ground to learn if this new variant requires any further special attention. Hopefully not, but as you say, best to be safe if any doubt exists...
Have all your family members managed to become vaccinated Rosie, or do you also have a few who have bought into some of the far-reaching conspiracy theories out there?
Makes me quite cross that there are people who simply stubbornly refuse to correctly evaluate the evidence, & would rather refute it out of hand.
I call that "epistemically stubborn" because when someone refuses to acknowledge actual evidence, (it follows that there is no sense to following such a rationale), then that sense of ignorance becomes wilful & without any form of reason at all, well at least in my view I suppose...
Do keep me informed about how your side-effects continue to develop... Hopefully, your BP will settle down quickly... (fingers crossed)
Please stay safe, happy & well Rosie...
Best wishes
Steve

Re: 4th Vax - Booster
Hi everyone
I had my 4th jab on Wednesday; Moderna this time, following 3 Pfizers. I have found the side effects have got more pronounced each time. Yesterday I was feeling really rough with headache and achy limbs but today I'm feeling much better with just the usual sore arm.
I'm pleased I am as protected as I can be but will still continue to be careful, wearing a mask in shops etc, particularly as cases in NSW are on the rise again.
Take care
Allan

Hey Allan...
Good to hear from you, as I am always wondering how everyone is travelling of course... "What a world we live in today!"
Anyways, I have also recently been advised by my GP that I should be considering the 4th booster, as it is now due, & before winter really starts to set in. Apparently, we will be collectively fighting a new variant "B.2", & the Flu is expected to also rear its ugly head... just to compound matters further...
On a related note, I have been recently reading articles of late concerning whether or not, 'VACCINES', may or may not, have some role in the increased occurrence of "Myocarditis / Pericarditis... However, I shall read a lot more before creating a new Post on that new topic of related interest ...
Best wishes Allan

Re: 4th Vax - Booster
Good morning everyone
. A quick question (or maybe questions hehe) - how long after your third jab are you eligible for the fourth and is there a recommendation on which vaccine it should be? I have had three Pfizer jabs. Worst side effects after the second - hardly any with the third. Thanks, Merry x

Re: 4th Vax - Booster
Hey Merry...
Morning to you over there in sunny Bunbury, WA. Lucky girl... Our eastern shore's inclement weather has still... barely ceased, & I'm struggling to be out there for my consistent cycling regime... Whinge, whinge...
Not really complaining though, so much is happening in our world today...
Merry, I was only recently offered my 4th booster by my GP. It's my understanding, that the longer the period between vaccinations, the better the antibody protection efficacy... Hence, 2-3 months... One can of course have it earlier. However, there are many reports in the UK of MPNers, having had the 4th jabs early & still coming down w/ CV–19 (?) One might speculate as to why this might occur... (?) Sadly, there may be a myriad of reasons too...
Mine have all been Pfizer to date, however, I think Allan may have had a 4th Moderna & that he may have reported a few more side FX (?)
Nevertheless, if best protection is due to longer lag times between vaccinations, then it might be best to wait etc... Check w/ your GP, (hopefully one who knows the correct answers). Mine suggests being prudent, however, not too earlier either... There's also a theory that suggests mixing the Pfizer & Moderna could improve one's level of protection... (?) Again, check w/ your GP...
I'm sure others will offer their opines in due course...
Wish you could join us for a physical CAFE Catchup shortly Merry... Perhaps, I might take my Laptop to the CC, & you could chat w/ others in that medium (?)
Have an awesome day...
