Hi all,
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year celebration. I saw my haematologist today and had positive results from last bloods and have been feeling more me. The bad news for me is that my Haematologist with an interest in thrombosis and a good head on his shoulders is moving to Launceston. So if there is anyone on here in Tassie who needs a great Haem and wants a recommendation let me know. My loss could be your gain.
Apparently a Dr from Sydney is coming to SA to replace him. Her name is Dr Brennan. Does anyone know her or of her? She also studies thrombosis and Van Willebrands etc. but not sure about her experience with MPNs. Anyone had dealings with her? Is she good?
Cheers,
SilverET

Hey Silver ET...
Happy 2020 to you & yours as well...
Sorry to hear that you are losing your Doc', and I hope that your new Dr Brennan, is a worthy replacement for your sake... Please do let us all know how things progress okay?
Glad to learn that you are feeling more yourself these days too... Great news!
I think that it is such a sad state of affairs that there are so very few, what me might term 'Specialist MPN' doctors, down-under in the land of Oz...
I am hoping to be able to do some sort of lobbying to the medical fraternity into the future about this very important aspect of MPN patient care in Australia... BTW, all constructive suggestions are always welcome too...
Having said that... Her name does ring a bell somewheres... not sure where I might have heard it? Perhaps one of the Cafe Catchups? Was she at the Royal North Shore (RNS) perviously per chance?
Anyways, keep us informed...
Best wishes Silver ET
Steve

Hi Steve. My understanding is that she is currently at Westmead. We will see how it goes. Anyway good news for any Tassie folk who need clotting expertise.
Cheers for now, SilverET
