PHYSICAL ACTIVITY & LONGEVITY

Post by MPN-MATE Admin »

Hi everyone... :D

I know that I do go one and on about the need for consistent physical activity, (especially in our matured years). However, it seems that that evidence just never stops being revealed... Hence, if we are to survive and enjoy our roles as loving Grandparents, then we do need to take better care of ourselves, in my view... 8-)

Best wishes

Steve
The researchers concluded that their main findings suggest that low levels of physical activity are associated with higher risks of death, no matter what a person's level of health was. Overall, physical activity was important for avoiding early death in older men and women.

Coupled with that study is another that suggests there are simple reasons WHY? Liver cancers increased by 50% in the UK...
"There are things we can all do to make a difference to our cancer risk and it's never too late to make a change. Keeping a healthy weight, not smoking, and drinking less alcohol will all help lower your chance of developing liver cancer."

The couch often looks good but once I get moving I am usually glad I did.

Hey Warwick... 8-)

Good to hear from you buddy... tried to call you a little ways back. However, you must have been busy at the time etc... (?)

Anyways, I do hope that all is moving along well for you...

Yes, the more I try to do with Physical Activity, ultimately the more successful I become... However, I do have to listen closely to my body too...

Not sure if you have been following my Trial with the Methotrexate (MTX) & Folic Acid or not? So far, it's been mostly positive... I have recently doubled the Folic Acid dose, and that does appear to be helping my fatigue and anaemia at least a little, which is a welcome event of course...

Next Bloods should prove interesting later this week for my next Specialist follow up...

BTW – I did the Sydney to the GONG Ride today with a few others, and will put up a Post shortly... Even though it was a tad hazy with smoke... It was still a great day's experience, and just another step towards my larger longer range goals for the fundraiser etc...

Anyways Warwick... Do let me know what's been happening with you when you have a moment, and when you are free sometime please call for a chin wag buddy... :-)

I will shortly be trying to arrange the next Cafe Catchup, and hopefully we might have one or two newer members along too...

Talk more soon Warwick...

Best

Steve
